ACS Catering – Creative Fresh Food
The grand opening of our new, state-of-the-art kitchen and food court in August 2005 was a great success. Feedback from staff and students alike has been positive an very encouraging.
Our catering team at ACS Egham operate in-house, meaning
that we employ and train our own chefs. We take great pride in
providing creative fresh food which is appealing to our multi
cultural student base as well as being nutritionally sound. Here
at ACS we work firmly to a fresh food policy which ensures that
wherever possible fresh ingredients are used, making the most
of seasonal produce. Menus run in four week
cycles and are advertised in the school magazine 'Jaguar
Tales' as well as the school offices.
All our menus are based on the Government's 'Balance
of Good Health' in conjunction with the British Nutrition
Foundation, and our Head Chef, Christian Hussenet, revises them three times a year.
The catering facility offers a wide range of choices
from The Chef's Theatre offering a selection of hot main
dishes and vegetarian options, a Deli Bar serving freshly made
sandwiches, bagels, homemade soup and jacket potatoes, Chilled
Salad Bar and a Dessert & Drinks Zone stocking a selection
of yoghurts, fruit, bottled water, fruit juices and chilled milkshakes.
Payment for lunches is made simple by the introduction of
a new computerized cashless system.
All Lower School students will be allocated a catering account
which is activated when a cheque is sent into school. Each time
a student takes a school lunch the set lunch cost is deducted
from their account via a bar code system. The student does not
need to carry a lunch card or token, their teacher simply ticks
their name and the bar code relating to the name is scanned thereby
debiting their account.
Middle & High School students will be issued with their own
individual swipe card which is activated when a cheque is sent
into school. When a student has made their lunch choice, they
go to a till point where their card will be swiped to the value
of their lunch. The card balance is shown on the display at the
tills so students can keep a track of their balance
We very much look forward to opening our doors and welcoming
