ACS Egham Parent Survey & Development Planning 07

The tables below demonstrate examples of how the Parent Survey feedback supports our development planning. The schools' development plans are comprehensive in nature. The selected examples that follow have been used to illustrate the link between the Parent Survey and the development planning process.

Performing Arts

The Drama and Performing Arts programme will be designed as a five year development model to include technical training for students. The facilities available will be assessed and a brief developed to guide design for the appropriate facilities, to be constructed at the School.

We will review ways in which drama can be used to reinforce learning in all subjects.

Students will be encouraged to develop a “Kids Theatre” and to take responsibility for their productions.

Links with the local and international community will be developed to expand the scope of the programme.

Parent Survey related questions

     • The after school non sports programme (e.g. arts, music, clubs etc)
        provides for my child's needs.
     • I believe the curriculum meets my child's needs.

Physical Education

We will build on the strength of the current PE programme which includes state-of-the-art instruction, to develop a plan of what PE instruction might look like in 10 years time. Our forward thinking will be made available in published articles and at conferences.

Based on this knowledge, we will develop a brief for the facilities and IT infrastructure that will be required for PE instruction and use it for the design, leading to construction and infrastructure implementation.

The school will seek partnerships with external organisations, in themselves fore-runners in the field, in order to assess, review and modify the programme.

Parent Survey related questions

     • The after school sports programme provides for my child's needs.

Activities

ACS Egham School will assess the breadth of its activity programme.  It will produce a plan for growth of the activities programme in relation to school growth.

Parent awareness programmes will also be developed.

Student assessment methods both formative and summative will be designed for the activities programme. The school will finalise a plan that will incorporate the activities programme into the formal school curriculum.

Parent Survey related questions

     • The after school sports programme provides for my child's needs.
     • The after school non sports programme (eg arts, music, clubs etc) provide for my child's needs.

Evidence of Learning

The school will audit current methods used to gather, record and use evidence of learning.

The method and content of reporting to parents will be reviewed in relation to the evidence of learning gathered.

Parent Survey related questions

     • I am satisfied with the frequency and thoroughness of reporting on my child's school progress.

Language

ACS Egham will develop an holistic policy using all aspects of language instruction. The teaching methods and learning environments will be reviewed in relation to their effectiveness in the instructional process.

We will assess staffing needs in relation to the proposed programme as well as the resource needs, including IT, required for successful implementation. We will develop international links in order to enhance conversation and instruction.

Parent Survey Questionnaire Feedback

     • I believe the curriculum meets my child's needs.
