ACS Cobham Parent Survey & Development Planning 07

The tables below demonstrate examples of how the Parent Survey feedback supports our development planning. The schools' development plans are comprehensive in nature. The selected examples that follow have been used to illustrate the link between the Parent Survey and the development planning process.

Programme Development

The faculty will enhance further the integration of standards and benchmarks into their assessment and instruction to improve learning experiences for students.

Curriculum and Assessment Teams will support the process for ongoing, school-wide, systematic, curriculum development.  This will include the application of the results of formal and informal student assessment data, action research projects, relevant ideas adopted through professional development work and the recommendations from educational research.

The Native Language Enrichment Programme will be reviewed, developed and expanded to provide a more meaningful link for students with their native culture through additional resources and the further integration of this program with the curriculum.

The curriculum for the Performing Arts will be further developed and expanded to provide improved learning opportunities for students in music, drama and dance, including extracurricular activities.

Student Assessment and Differentiation

Assessment tools will be further developed to reflect best practice for measuring the extent of each student's acquisition of the skills, knowledge, and understanding specified in our curriculum.

Student assessment tools will provide teachers with the information needed to differentiate instruction based on each student's previous educational experience, culture, learning needs, intellectual ability, and learning style.

A strategy for the timely gathering of accurate and reliable student performance data will be refined.  Results will be used to guide teaching and direct curriculum development.

Professional development plans will be developed and supported to ensure that teachers, administrators, students and parents understand our assessment strategy, assessment tools, and the appropriate interpretation of assessment results.
