Press Release: April 2005

ACS Hillingdon International School celebrates the opening of Harmony House, International Centre for Musical Arts

ACS Hillingdon International School (formerly known as the American Community School, Hillingdon) recently celebrated the opening of Harmony House, International Centre for Musical Arts.  Situated in a building on campus and renovated at a cost of £1.7 million, the Centre has a digital recording studio, rehearsal rooms, practice studios and a computer lab for music technology.

Commenting on the new Centre ACS Hillingdon Head of School, Ginger Apple said “ACS Hillingdon has increasingly become a destination for students wishing to combine a solid academic education with a high level of music study.  The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, including the IB Certificate in Music.  In addition to study at ACS Hilliingdon, our students also take individual private lessons at the Guildhall School.  One of our IB students was recently accepted to the Guildhall Music School.”

The renovation of Harmony House is just one component of the ongoing development and investment in facilities and programmes. ACS Cobham International School recently built a new Early Childhood Building and ACS Egham International School has redeveloped its cafeteria. Each of our campuses have development plans to ensure that the organisation remains at the forefront of academic philosophy and practice and that our facilities are among the best in the world.  In line with these developments, the schools recently rebranded to reflect the international nature of the academic programmes and the schools’ communities.
