Rebecca Stephens, MBE
Mountaineer
Rebecca is the first British woman to have climbed Everest – an achievement recognised around the world. Rebecca then went on to become the first English speaking woman in the world to climb the Seven Summits, the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. With a passionate belief that every individual can achieve goals far beyond their wildest dreams, Rebecca believes that everyone has ‘their Everest’, something they badly want to do. The secret is to have the self awareness to listen to your inner voice and follow a path that is true for you. Most recently, Rebecca has crossed the island of South Georgia in the footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Rebecca is a trustee for Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, member of the Alpine Club, and has been closely involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and the Outward Bound Trust.
ACS Egham International School
ACS International Schools based in London, England were founded in 1967 to serve both international and local communities. The schools are non-sectarian and
co-educational, promote high standards of scholarship and challenge all members of the community to fulfil their potential.
In March 1995, ACS Egham began registering students, and later in the Autumn officially opened its doors at the start of its first academic year. The High School was established in 1998. ACS Egham is now an IB World School, and one of only three schools in England to offer all three IB programmes (the IB Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma).
We now serve 578 students from Pre-Scramblers through 12th Grade, representing over 30 nationalities. The school is committed to offering a superior international education in an atmosphere which embraces and encourages academic excellence, lifelong learning and international understanding.
Today we celebrate the commencement of our 6th graduation with a graduating class of 27 students. We are proud of our seniors and we wish them well as they step into the future and look forward to welcoming them back as Alumni.
