High School Drama

In their latest unit of drama, a number of activities, resources and structures were used to demonstrate how students can acquire an explicit understanding of the way in which elements of form are used to generate dramatic tension and irony. Students then focused on Greek tragedy and the devices it employs to heighten tension for the audience. They continued to use these parameters to create their own theatre pieces with a subject matter of their choice. The following are ewxcerpts from the student's performance diaries.

Creative Writing

This is a selection of work from 9th Grade Honors English class.  The students assigment was to submit a creative piece of writing which used imagery reflecting all the five senses. They were also to use as many other literary and stylistic devices such as metaphor, simile and personification as they felt they could effectively control.
