Almost 40 students got together for 2 days in existing and newly formed Rock Bands to learn, write, perfect and perform some rock ‘numbers’. They had nine, supremely talented music tutors…and here is testimony from the kids……

As my first experience with Rock weekend, it was very exciting!  It was awesome to have the tutors with us but better, to see them perform.  They rocked!  I am in a rock band and now want to learn to play guitar and take more lessons for next year's Rock weekend.  Cool experience............Tyler

Having attended every year, the overall vibe this year was above and beyond my expectations. The passion and dedication behind the rockers' practicing was more than evident and was truly a great experience. Conner and I always get a lot out of it, improvement and fun. This year's rock weekend in my opinion was the best ever! I contributed in last years rock weekend but this year was much better. One of the main reasons was because there were so many more bands this year. There was about twice as many bands as last year. Because of this, there was twice the range of different kinds of rock. we had some pop rock, some jazz, some metal, and some alternative! it was great. also the tutors were much better and much more helpful! My band and I learnt a lot this years rock weekend and we had loads of fun! We can't wait for next year! I think the rock weekend is a great experience and I think all musicians should try it out! - Nick

P.S. Thanks to Mr Cook, Mr Ross, all the staff for the loan of their rooms and to the PTO for funding the lunch. We demolished (amongst other things) 300 slices of pizza!
