Grade 6 take a Digital Photography/Photoshop class for one trimester with Mrs Goff. During this time we have a professional photographer come in from Snappy Snaps, in Windsor and he takes a workshop with our students. Their comments are below. A prize is given of a trip to the Windsor Studio where the students are allowed to use the professional equipment. They are also rewarded with framed enlarged prints of their winning shots. These are currently in the reception area.
On January 30th, Mr McCormack from Snappy Snaps came to our school to teach us about photo taking. At the end we had a competition to see who could take the best picture. We won this, because of team effort. Our picture was a special picture that showed great teamwork. Laura found the setting and posed and Josefine took the winning Shot. We both thought it was a fascinating action shot and we are happy we both got to go to the Studio afterwards together.

Mr McCormack gave us a presentation about how to take a good photo. He told us how to get good lighting, good angles, how to crop and how to put a frame around it. Then we went out and took some photos, using the knowledge that we gained from the Snappy Snaps man. We downloaded our photos and chose our favourite ones, displaying them on the screen. My favourite photo was the one that got chosen. I took it by pointing the camera up and getting under the big tree. After I took it and came back, I cropped it so that the tree trunk was in the middle. I am really happy that I was one of the 5 people that got chosen to go to his studio.
