Dear Parents,

Last week 12 members of the NEASC/IBO accreditation team visited our school to review the school’s self study. All school faculty met with team members and all classes were visited a number of times over the week. A comprehensive report was completed by the team members over the week and a verbal summary was provided to us on Friday.

The final report including commendations and recommendations will be received by the school some time in December. I would like to thank all faculty members – teachers, teachers assistants, administrative support for their work in the lead up to, and during the week of accreditation. The informal feedback from the accreditors affirmed that our school is of very high standard with recommendations to take us to the next level.

Our school Head, Moyra Hadley, will provide detail in due course. At this time of the year there are many absences due to winter colds and coughs. Please make sure you send appropriate clothing with your child for the cold weather. All absences are to be noted with the class teacher.

With only less than four weeks to go before the holidays, I know travel arrangements will probably have been completed, but I would like to emphasise the need to respect the school calendar when planning your holidays and that the last day of the school year is 19th of December. There will be quality teaching and learning occurring throughout these last days and all students are expected to attend. Please ensure that your child attends school, unless ill, up to the final day – December 19th.
