The varsity boys’ basketball team has gotten off to a good start this season. We hold the new record by winning 11 games in a row. Some of those were close games that came down to the last play like Zurich and ASL. We’re big rivals with ASL so it was good to get that win over them. We knew that they’re a well coached team and they were practicing hard for the upcoming game. We were thinking about that game all week in practice too and a week of hard practice lead to a hard fought game. We started slow, falling behind in the first quarter, but we battled back and took the game over late in the fourth and held on to win by 2. Our streak ended Wednesday the 3rd of February to the TASIS Royals. Coming into the game with an all-time record of 2-16 against the team we knew we’d have a hard game. TASIS came out strong and although we got plenty of good shots at the basket they just weren’t going in. It came down to the last play yet again but this time we fell short losing the ball on an inbounds play and fouling with 0.6 seconds remaining. TASIS went on to win by 4. We had a renewed hunger to bounce back and keep winning.
