This winter, while we cuddle up indoors with blankets and hot cocoa, we tend to forget about a group of guys who take on the biting cold everyday to fight for ACS's honor. A group of guys who, come rain or shine, march on to the field ready to play and give it their all. This group of guys is our very own Varsity Rugby Team. Their determination is certainly paying off as this year's season has come to a flying start. The team was undefeated up to their game last week against Tiffin, a match which player Steven Robertson called "interesting."However, experience came with the heartbreaking loss and the boys are now as ready as ever to take their game to the next level. There's no doubt that this will happen as the team has the desire and the talent to reach it. In fact, team member Mike Fredin has recently been invited to try out for the USA under-17 team - talk about skill! Coach Russell is extremely pleased with his team, especially at " seeing great improvement in brand new players and the team developing as a whole." Although the season is just starting, each member has a favorite memory already. For Ian Parker, this memory is " Bama [Captain Andrew Smith] getting his first try ever." For Ryan Bayly, it's his first game, or "what I can remember of it." There's a bond the guys have formed on the field as well as off it, which will help them achieve their main goal of winning at the ISST's this year. In order to do this "All 22 players must come together as one and play to the best of their abilities." quotes Coach Russell. "They must be commited," Committed they are. They've put in blood, sweat, and tears into every game this season and they're being rewarded for it. Keep up the good work!
