The ACS Vision is supported by the four cornerstone values that underpin the
organisation’s approach and philosophy to learning and education:
1. Student-centred
2. Excellence
3. Community
4. International
These values form the very foundation of who we are, and what we do best,
and as such are celebrated with confidence.
- Our goal at ACS is to encourage students to be critical thinkers, and responsible
global citizens. The success of our student-centred philosophy can be seen
on a daily basis across all three schools in the way our extended community
stimulates teamwork, motivation, and the close collaboration between students,
teachers, staff, and parents.
- We reinforce our philosophy through the maintenance of excellent academic
standards, and by promoting high personal achievement. As an organisation
ACS will continue to raise this benchmark of expectation in every student
and member of staff, through a driven enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
- To assist students, families, and staff in transitioning and assimilating
into our extended community, we offer a comprehensive support network which
includes campus-specific Parent/teacher Organisations and Association, Welcome
Groups, International Committees, Transition Assistance Networks, Lower,
Middle, and High School Counsellors and Peer Support, and highly trained
Admissions and Housing teams.
- At ACS we actively celebrate our internationalism and cultural diversity
as an intrinsic part of who we are. Our students, parents, and staff come
from over 60 countries, and speak over 30 languages. To each and every one
we offer a ‘home away from home’ where unity and cultural diversity
are celebrated in equal measure.
Working from these cornerstone values, our schools have created individual
Philosophy Statement s to guide each community to provide the best education
for each child. Review of each school’s philosophy statement takes place
regularly by the Head of School, administration, staff, teachers and parents
to ensure it remains relevant and true to our core values. Most importantly,
each philosophy statement highlights the individuality and character of each
campus, and is wholly owned and constructed by its school.
