ACS Hillingdon has grown from 50 students, when it opened, to
its current enrolment of approximately 550 students. Although
the school has increased in size, its warm community spirit has
remained. ACS Hillingdon is a school that strongly values partnerships
between parents, teachers, and students.
Our philosophy actively encourages a sense of teamwork, and aims
to set a challenging yet achievable academic standard. We believe
in meeting the developmental needs of our students by providing
a balanced educational programme, and preparing them to take their
place in our ever-changing world. This also means working to ease
transitions to and from other schools. The Parent-Teacher Association
(PTA) attracts a wide range of volunteers, including the invaluable
expertise of our Transition Assistance Network (TAN) members,
who are always ready to help overseas families settle into the
United Kingdom.
Academically, the curriculum in our Lower School recognises the
needs of each child, and provides programmes with appropriate
experiences. Our Middle School offers a core curriculum with a
variety of electives including fine arts classes, as well as extracurricular
and field trip enrichment activities. The High School meets the
needs of all of our international students through an American
High School Diploma, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses,
and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Special emphasis
is placed on providing each student with expert advice on course
selection, and guidance in pursuing the ideal educational opportunities
to realise his/her goals.
Our school is located on the Hillingdon Court estate, a Grade
II-listed mansion house with beautiful period architecture and
grounds. The estate has played an important part in Great Britain's
long history, and we are delighted that these facilities now play
a part in educating tomorrow’s international leaders.
