Why I joined ACS
I wanted to be part of an international community where students and teachers learn about the world simply by interacting with each other. Moreover, I wanted to enter an academic community where I could grow as an educator.
What I most love about working here
I love hearing different languages spoken as I walk down the hall. It reminds me of the importance of building positive international relations and creating strong bonds of communication across cultures. As a teacher, I really feel a powerful sense of purpose to do my part in forging these bonds.
The reason ACS is special
We are a school where people value learning and living. It makes for a busy combination because staff and students are eager to pursue the highest level of scholarship while also wanting to travel and engage in the action of life. Balancing these two can be a challenge, but the place is always buzzing.
My favourite part of living in the UK
Besides being so close to the thrills of London and the historic beauty of the countryside, my proximity to Heathrow serves as a gateway to the cultures and landscapes throughout Europe. With short and relatively inexpensive flights, I can be in the Scottish highlands or at a sidewalk cafe in Paris within hours of leaving my front door.
