Why I joined ACS
I have always wanted to work with children or in education but somehow missed the road to teaching. I was able to find this post when I was looking for a position which would fit in with my new status in life as a mother. When I read the job profile on the website I thought it was perfect for me with my background in business management / marketing, six years in retail, and a lifetime with people. It was also reassuring to know that I would be in an international environment.
What I most love about working here
Without a doubt, the people I work with. No challenge is too extreme when you have great people around you. This is definitely the case in the Admissions department.
The reason ACS is special
At the interview I pointed out how important a flexible work schedule would be to me as a new mother, and ACS took everything I said on board offered me the ideal job. I remember having to pull the car over to take the call and I will never forget how grateful and fortunate I felt to work for an organisation that valued a healthy work/life balance. Several years later, I still feel appreciated and valued.
My favourite part of living in the UK
It has four seasons in one day! No, seriously, I would have to say the cultural diversity. You would never know that you were in the UK by looking at the people around us. I am surrounded by a community from all over the world and I seem to learn something new each and everyday. I also like the fact that I am in Europe and a two and half hour journey on the Eurostar will get me to Paris.
