As a newly arrived family to the UK, everything right now probably feels quite challenging. We know, because as ACS parents most of us have been in your position.
To help you come to grips with life in a new country, we have devised this Welcome Pack of 8 key chapters highlighted below. The businesses and organisations mentioned form the foundations to getting you settled into your surroundings. However, ACS can not be held liable for any changes or the quality of goods and services provided by these businesses.
Upon your arrival it is very important that you:
- Complete and submit the emergency contact sheet supplied by Admissions
- Locate your closest hospital with an A&E (Accident and Emergency/Emergency Room)
- Register with a GP (General Practitioner/doctor) at your local surgery or health clinic.
- Purchase a detailed street map (Surrey A-Z or Street Atlas), available as a spiral booklet or fold-out map
- You might also need the Highway Code, which explains UK traffic regulations.
We hope you find this information useful. We also hope this information will make your transition a bit easier and that your time here at ACS will be pleasant, interesting, fun-filled and exciting.
