Children learn and grow in different ways and at different paces.
While all our teachers are adept at employing teaching to different
learning styles and levels, some students require additional support.
For children who already have Individualized Educational Plans,
we work to harmonize that approach with our school’s availability.
If your child’s needs can be met by our staff, there is
no charge for additional assistance which provided through pull-out,
in-class support or a combination of both.
If your child needs additional assistance or if it becomes apparent
that additional support is necessary, a collaborative team will
be set up which includes the parents, classroom teacher(s), resource
teacher, guidance teacher, an administrator and any other necessary
specialists. This team will convene to design and implement modifications
to support learning and growth. Further outside assessment by
an Educational Psychologist or other outside professionals may
be necessary.
Should you child need more specialized assistance, either for
additional tutoring or for specific learning needs, we will refer
to appropriate educational psychologists, educational aide agencies
or speech, physical or occupational therapists. Parents will be
informed of progress through conferences, telephone calls and
written reports. Additional team meetings will be held to monitor
progress and adapt any necessary changes. The cost of outside
consultants and specialists must be covered by the family.
