In January of this year, Lila and I began with the idea that if we could get 15-20 ACS'ers to attend our "reunion", it would be such a wonderful success. The official count of attending alumni and teachers was 60, plus families! Added to those who could not attend, but with whom we have renewed contact, in our wildest dreams we could not have envisioned such a success. We billed this as possibly "the last ACS Reunion of the 1900's" and in true ACS style we all rose to the occasion. So many who came expressed anxious moments at not having seen fellow classmates in as many as 20 years. Yet fears were soon forgotten. So many years later, we just seemed to pick up where we left off. All we needed was a rickety little bus, a driver named Ted and the homeroom bell to complete the picture. Time and distance can challenge many things, but our friendships from ACS are not one of them. Eric Phannenstiel
wrote in my reunion yearbook the weekend was like "getting a drink from
a fire hydrant." I just love that analogy! We all had so much to say,
so much to catch up on, and we had so little time. But through the blur
of three days together, we renewed some friendships, strengthened others
and made new ones we will cherish from this day forward. We as ACS'ers have always known we share an uncommon bond that can never be broken. With our reunion this last June, we have left no room for doubts. In rekindling our spirits we have dispelled any fears about our futures together. Time and distance may prevent us from being a focal part in each other's "everyday", but it is our uncommon bond that will always keep us together. It is said that you must choose your environment with care. Your friends and your family are what make up your world. What a wonderful world we all share. Take care everyone and stay safe! All My Love, Kimmie
