Students, staff and parents at ACS Egham International School came together on October 31st to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ACS International Schools.
School assembly
The event saw the ACS Egham community celebrating the schools’ history and heritage. It began with a school assembly featuring musical performances which included a recital of a song written for the 40th Anniversary celebrations ‘Proud to be part of ACS’ and speeches from both staff and students.

Time capsule burial
After the assembly and a commemorative photo, the school community joined together for the burial of a time capsule, containing objects chosen by ACS Egham students to capture the social and political environment of the world today, with a particular focus on the theme of sustainability.

Trees for our future
Throughout the day, students, parents and staff took part in the ceremonial planting of ten trees on ACS Egham’s campus. The trees were specially chosen from around the world to represent the internationalism of the school and include the European Beech, Eucalyptus from Australia, the Blue Atlas Cedar from North Africa, the Japanese Weeping Cherry and the American Forest Pansy. The ten trees planted were part of a total of 40 that were planted across the three ACS Campuses; one for each of the 40 years ACS has been educating students from around the world.
