Students, staff and teachers at ACS Cobham came together on Thursday 18th October to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ACS International Schools. The day saw students treated to inspirational talks and discussions, music, presentations and a ceremonial cake cutting. Here are just some of the highlights:
A special cake for a special day
Cake cutting by Janet Magee (Managing Director of ACS International Schools), Tom Lehman (Head of School for ACS Cobham) and two High School students.

Charity drive bonanza
Donations raised by students totalling a fantastic £13,000 were then presented to the Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Rosemary Dane, in support of her chosen charity, the Walton Firs Foundation and to Fiona Bass of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the chosen charity of the ACS Cobham community’s disaster relief committee.

A day of celebration
The day had begun with High School students attending a discussion on leadership, at which they were given the opportunity to put questions to a panel which included several parents of the school with leadership experience in the businesses world, as well as representatives from the school.

Sustainability Programme launch
Throughout the day regular environmental tours were taken around the campus for all students, parents and staff who wished to take part. The tours provided an educational and engaging introduction to recycling, vegetable growing and the regeneration of the pond. Participants on the tours also took part in a ceremonial tree planting, which jointly marked the 40th anniversary and the launch of the ACS environmental sustainability programme. Trees were planted across the three ACS Campuses, one for each of the 40 years that ACS has been running, with 20 planted at the Cobham campus.
