Welcome to our 40th Anniversary Microsite

Forty years ago our Chairman, Mr E J Poularas, along with co-founder, Mr G E Speed, had a vision to create an exceptional educational environment to serve the needs and ambitions of expatriate families and children living in London, England. In September of 1967, their shared vision became a reality when they opened their first school in north London with 35 students.

Today, with over 2,500 students aged between 2½ and 18, from 70 nationalities, and nearly 600 staff at three London area ACS campuses, that vision has been handsomely achieved.

We are proud that our schools are now home to hundreds of expatriate families, resident foreign nationals, and an ever-increasing number of British families. This, together with our multinational and multicultural staff, makes us a truly international community.

For parents, few things are more precious than their children’s education. For us, delivering an outstanding educational experience has always been, and will always remain, at the very heart of what we do: it is our passion and vocation. Our Chairman, guided by the Board, the Management Committee and the Heads of School, is committed to this aim and to the long-term success of ACS and its people.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we invite you to look around this special 40th anniversary ‘microsite’, read the Chairman’s message, glance back through our history, review some amazing facts and figures, and remember some milestone achievements that shaped society in 1967.

There are a number of key events and activities planned during our 40th year and this site will be updated as celebrations are confirmed.

We hope you enjoy this site, and continue to revisit it over the coming academic year.
